How did choirs manage during lockdowns?

Endeavour Harmony, like all other choirs, ceased face-to-face rehearsals and went online for many months at a time during the pandemic. Rehearsing on zoom and all the challenges that brings gave us so much good 'stuff' for a show, we had to do it! We started working on the ideas and concepts for the show in 2020 and the plan was to hold it in late 2021 but you guessed it, another outbreak put a stop to that.

'Unmasked' is ready and will be held on Sat 17th and Sunday 18th September (2pm). We are so excited! The venue is the Engadine Community Centre, Sydney.

The show is in 3 acts and follows the journey of Sally and Maxine, two prospective members who attend a new member open night just before the first wave of omicron strikes.

The first act is BC (before covid), Act 2 is the pandemic and all the situations we found ourselves in and act 3 is when restrictions eased and we could sing together again. The story is told through songs, 18 of them all up. Musicians and audio / visual media play a vital role in what is sure to be an entertaining afternoon.

We were thrilled to have the genius of Liam McIlwain come to our most recent show rehearsal this week and give us some tips. (see video snippet). Liam is the resident director of Mary Poppins (Sydney) and before that Come From Away.

Tickets on sale now.
